Swedish Massage
The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage increases circulation of blood and lymph, stretches the ligaments and tendons (keeping them supple and pliable), stimulates the skin and nervous system, reduces stress (both emotional and physical) and is suggested in a regular program for stress management and relaxation.

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. A trigger point in the back, for example, may reduce referral pain in the neck.

Intuitive Integrative Massage
Intuitive is a form of massage that allows the therapist to follow their intuition, as to where the client’s mind, body and spirit need to be harmonized and balanced. We may integrate a variety of modalities that create the greatest avenue of healing. Essentially, allowing the spirit to lead and the body and soul to follow.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. The many discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, leg cramps, headaches, edema and stiff neck can be relieved with massage therapy. In addition, pre-natal massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages the flow of blood and lymph and helps to relax nervous tension – which aids in better sleep, and can help relieve depression or anxiety.

Reflexology PhotoReflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fasciitis, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play. We will first apply traditional Swedish and sports massage techniques to the foot, calf and upper leg. This will not only help relieve toe pain, ankle pain, plantar fasciitis and common forms of arthritis, but can also decrease stress and anxiety in the entire body. In addition, a variety of stretches can be beneficial.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
